Recently,MIIT announced the economic performance of the telecom industry of September, 2015. Statistics shows that the basic telecom corporations strengthened the mobile communication network construction in the first nine months of 2015 and added 680 thousand base stations with the sum reaching 4.077 million.

And the total number of 3G/4G base stations reached 2.944 million, the ratio increasing to 72.2%, and the quality and coverage of 3G/4G network service continued to improve. The total number of public WLAN APs was 5.958 million, 87 thousand lower than that of the end of last year.

In addition, in terms of the fixed network, the number of Internet broadband access ports reached 470 million by the end of September this year with a year-on-year growth of 20.7%, and the number increased by 68.476 million compared to that of the end of last year, which was 2.3 times the net increase size one year earlier. The Internet broadband access ports continued to keep a situation of “fiber instead of copper”, the number of xDSL ports reduced by 15.99 million compared with that of the end of last year with its sum reducing to 120 million and the ratio of it in Internet access ports dropping from 34.3% at the end of last year to 25.9%.

The number of FTTH/0 ports reached 240 million, increasing by 80.008 compared with that of the end of last year, and the ratio of it in the total Internet broadband access ports increased from 40.6% at the end of last year to 51.7%.
